“Band of Brothers:” Nine brothers of the Fuentes Family grew up in Corpus Christi, and all served in the United States military from 1957 to 1982. Eight brothers served in the Marine Corps and one in the Air Force. We will recognize the Fuentes brothers during our celebration
General Boykin’s 36-year career included commands with the US Army’s Special Forces (Green Berets), Delta Force and Rangers. He served in numerous high profile operations such as the Battle of Mogadishu, also referred to as “Black Hawk Down” and high profile agencies such as the Central Intelligence Agency.
Mario was severely disabled when his combat vehicle was blown up by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. He recuperated at The Burn Center at the San Antonio Military Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston. Mario has been reaching out to other veterans with hope since then, and uses his artistic ability to support veteran causes.
